A Vintage Wedding

The Bride Siobhan Brady got married at The Manor House Hotel, Castle Combe on the 17th of March this year. As you can see from the photo Siobhan chose a 1920/30’s vintage look for her wedding. To achieve the classical and accurate 1920/ 30’s style I used traditional hairstyling techniques which would have been originally used at this period of time to achieve the historical flapper girl look. To recreate the authentic look l finger waved the entire top section of her hair into waves to frame the face and then pin-curled the tips of the hair to produce the crest of curls at the bottom. After setting the hair with plenty of gel and the hair was then dried under the even the heat of a hooded dryer. Once the hair was completely dry the style was brushed out to create the soft waves and the bouncy curls of the 20’s and 30’s look. This fingered waves style was set off beautifully by the vintage decorative hair slide purchased by Siobhan and the beautiful beaded antique 1920’s flapper dress. We created a semi 1920’s make-up look including dark smokey eyes and a berry red lipstick.
